Hypnosis is an old technique for inducing a trance in a person, allowing this person, or the hypnotiser, a better access to the patient's subconciousness. Hypnosis thus has been used for a variety of diffrent things, including threapy, research, science, religion, persuasion and some haven even developed it into a form of seduction.

Setting a clear start for hypnosis is difficult. The word itself was only developed in the 19th century, by Scottish physician James Braid. However, there has been, according to diffrent historical accounts, many accounts of something which could be considered hypnosis before that.
Beginning from James Braid, hypnosis quickly developed into what it is today. Sadly, there is not much more to be said about the history, because since it's birth, hypnosis has not changed by much. For the business development, see below.
The methods by which someone is hypnotised actually cover entire books, and cannot be conveyed in a few sentences. In many cases, the patient's awareness has to be focused on an object, and the patient also has to be able to block external sensory stimuli, which, under normal circumstances, everyone should have. It should also be mentioned, that someone can be hypnotised without him or her noticing, however never against their own will. Meaning that if the hypnosis attempt is unwanted, then it will only work if the other person does not suspect anything, according to today's claims.
The general effects when in a hypnotised state are focused attention, especially to the hypnotiser, as well as a much higher suggestibility. Suggestibility, by definition is the level of of persuasion which a peron will allow to occur onto itself, before setting up resistance. Strong suggestibility does not mean that the person can be ordered to do anything, but that it can be lead to do many things, which he/she would maybe not do otherwise. Hypnosis thus has also often been used as a way to lower the hypnotised's resistance to something, or an idea.
It has also been known for a long time that hypnosis can also have long term effects, such as suggesting a person a certain reaction to a certain situation, which can be repeated many times. An example would be a therapist, suggesting to his patient that if he get's the desire to go to the casino, he will get a headache. Examples of this have been known, and continue to work. The power of hypnosis must not be underestimated.
Over the years, hypnosis has been used in many domains. Depending on the type of person, each one has used it for it's own goals and purposes. The police has sometimes used hypnosis to drastically improve the memory of eye-witnesses. (There are some reports that 2 months after just seeing a car pass by, one eye witness, through hypnosis, was able to recall 4 letters of the car sign.) Therapists have also frequently used hypnosis for suggesting to a patient something, which will then stop him, or encourage him to do something he wouldn't have done otherwise. A very known example is that of a smoker, who is suggested that he / she does not want to smoke anymore, and will feel sick when doing it. This works astonshingly good. Notice here too, however, that this does not go directly against the person's will, ever if the body of the person is addicted. Thus it should be noted, that bodily addictions, habits, etc. play only an idirect role in hypnosis, and mostly don't enter the picture. Another, rather new use of hypnosis has been one for persuasion. This hypnosis is not as deep and trance-like as the others, but has been reported to worke quite well. By putting the subject into a more suggestible state, the hypnotiser is capable of letting the other person do things or believe things far easier. Lastly, one of the newest inventions in this field is the one of so called Erotic Hypnosis, where the hypnotiser attempts to arouse deep, erotic desires in their subject. This can either be a partner already in a relationship, to make the love life more exciting, or even on complete strangers to seduce them.
With hypnosis not beeing a "buyable" product per se, we will focus on the main thing which can be bought: Information.
Wheter you want to hypnotise yourself, or another person, or even an entire room full of people, the correct education is necessary to do so.
Here, there are two alternatives: Either joining in classes and seminars, listening to professional hypnotisers, or buying books on the subject, which you can calmly read at home.
Seminars have been known to be more educational, while books mostly contain more information, and with the right spirit, may also teach more than a seminar, but this of course depends on the person itself.
The books/seminars should also be of your choosing about what you want to do with hypnosis. Hypnosis (see below or above), can have many applications.
Learning how to hypnotise is always an advancment in your peronsal life skills. A skilled hypnotiser will often suceed, where one who does not know the craft, will fail.
It can be used for an incredible variety of things. You can take up the job yourself, becoming a "medical" hypnotiser. You could use it to check wheter or not people close to you have been lying. You could also use it enhance your love life, in many ways. It could also be used in a job interview, allowing you a far higher chance to success than without it.
There are many options, and some haven't even been found yet. It is up to you, to pioneer them.
Unlike with other products / ideas, hypnosis includes a third, darker element which some may wish to exploit. This has become known as underground hypnosis, and is meant to persuade, trick or maneuver a person to make or do things which will profit the hypnotiser. Such hypnosis is not as deep as the classical, medical one is, howerever has been reported to be effective, and very useful for many. This approach however, is less moral than the other two of course, since hypnotising someone for these goals will most likely not aid the patients (only the hypnotiser), but that is for each and every one to decide for themselves.
We have considered that the dark approach may still be one which is one of the most profitable. This is so for two reasons:
1) There is not much educational material available, if you wish to enter this field by selling books and seminars, this is a good opportunity
2) When taking the direct approach, namely hypnotising people yourself, this will probably yield larger results than solely hypnotising people who ask for it.
Therefore, the shops we have chosen are both about underground hypnotising. This was also done because finding books about "normal" hypnosis is not difficult today. There are many good medical books, explicitly describing the process.
